PGA's International Peace and Security Program congratulates the National Assembly of Seychelles on resolving unanimously yesterday to authorize the Government of Seychelles to accede to the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT).

PGA wishes to acknowledge, in particular, the significant advocacy/outreach efforts of the Leader of Government Business in the National Assembly, Hon. Bernard Georges (PGA Executive Committee Member) in the past 18 months which contributed substantively and positively to this outcome.

PGA looks forward to the deposit of the Instrument of Ratification of Seychelles of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT) in the near future.

PGA is grateful to the Parliament of Sierra Leone for facilitating the organization of this Workshop and to UNODC for their continued important collaboration with and cooperation.

Seychelles Approves Ratification of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT)

PGA especially wishes to acknowledge the central role played by PGA Executive Committee Member Hon. Bernard Georges in connection with this decision.

The session was organized with the kind support of the Weapons Threat Reduction Program (WTRP) of Global Affairs Canada (GAC WTRP).

While Tanzania is already a State Party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation and other treaties, action is still pending .with respect to several other crucial international conventions and treaties which regulate nuclear and radiological security,.
