Under the leadership of the Convenor of the International Law and Human Rights Program of PGA, Dip. Felipe Michelini, the House of Representatives of Uruguay and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with PGA commemorated the 10th Anniversary of the Entry into Force of the Rome Statute with a Seminar open to the public.

The Seminar asessed the process and impact of the ratification and implementation of the Rome Statute for the national and international priorities of Uruguay. It also presented the outcomes of the Kampala Review Conference, in particular with respect to the crime of aggression, reiterating the urgency to proceed with the ratification and domestic implementiaton of the amendments.

The Seminar, hosted by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Dip. Jorge Orrico benefited from the presence of the first Prosecutor of the ICC, Mr. Luis Moreno Ocampo who reflected on the past 10 years of international criminal justice worldwide.
