On April 23, PGA Board member Senator Emilio Álvarez Icaza convened several legislators in the Senate of Mexico to introduce the work of the organization and to encourage them to become PGA members. Ms. Mónica Adame, Secretary-General of PGA, joined the meeting in the Senate and expressed our gratitude for the opportunity to provide an overview of our advocacy and the importance of having Mexican members.

Senator Álvarez Icaza also called on the attending legislators to take a vote for Senator Claudia Anaya to be the Chair of the Mexican National Group. All legislators unanimously voted for her.

The Board will formally approve PGA’s National Group in Mexico in their meeting on June 1st, 2024.
