On 1 September 2015, at the margins of the 4th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) in collaboration with the Mission of Liechtenstein and the Global Institute for the Prevention of Aggression organized an event on The Role of Parliaments in Criminalizing Illegal and Aggressive War-Making.

On this occasion, the distinguished audience particularly benefitted from the eloquence of His Excellency Mr. Moustapha Niasse, President of the National Assembly of Senegal, in his speech on the Rome Statute and more specifically the Amendments of Kampala. Once again, H.E. Mr. Niasse spoke on behalf of a country that is not only a leader upholding the rule of law and human rights but also the first country to ratify the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

H.E. Mr. Niasse distinguished himself by his words as much as by his actions. His exemplary career as a lawyer and economist includes the most prominent national positions (Prime Minister twice, Minister of Foreign Affairs for 11 years) and international ones (Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations from 2001 to 2005).

Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) takes this opportunity to thank His Excellency Mr. Moustapha Niasse for his tenacious commitment to the fight against impunity and support for the Amendments of Kampala, which will be the first item of discussion on the agenda of the next parliamentary session.
