Statement by former PGA Member Hon. Kindness Paradza on the domestication of the Biological Weapons Convention in Zimbabwe

I feel so happy that the Zimbabwe Government has finally domesticated the UN Biological Weapons Convention by drafting the Biological Weapons Bill, which should be introduced in this current session of Parliament. Over the years, I have been one of those Members of Parliament who has been vigorously campaigning for the introduction of this Bill. Even though I left Parliament in August 2023, I continued to lobby the Minister of Defense, her Deputy as well as the Chairman of the Portfolio Committee on Defense and Security, for them to come up with this important Bill. All the three have been very supportive of this initiative. This means Zimbabwe is now one of those progressive countries who have taken this decision of domesticating this UN Convention. Congratulations to the Government of Zimbabwe. Statement by former PGA Member Hon. Kindness Paradza on the domestication of the Biological Weapons Convention in Zimbabwe.
