As a member of the African, Caribbean and Pacific community (ACP), and as signatory of the revised Cotonou Agreement with of the ACP and European Union, Lesotho has recognized the importance of the ICC as a mechanism for peace and international justice, and has committed to promote the ratification and implementation of the Rome Statute.
According to the information available, the Government of Lesotho is actively working on the ratification of the amendments on the crime of aggression.

Adoption of implementation legislation of the Rome Statute of the ICC |
Lesotho has adopted full implementing legislation regarding genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity via its Penal Code Act of 2010. However, the Penal Code misses to criminalize Arts. 8(2)(b)(xii) and 8(2)(e)(x) of the Rome Statute. There is only reference to the Superior Orders and Prescription of the Law principles, and there are no domestic provisions concerning cooperation with the ICC. |
