En tant qu'institution basée sur un traité, la Cour pénale internationale (CPI) bénéficie de la présence de l'Assemblée des États parties (AEP) en tant qu'organe législatif et de contrôle de sa gestion, et qui se compose d'un représentant de chaque État partie.

Le Statut de Rome continent une obligation de coopérer pleinement avec la CPI (art. 86) et d’adopter des procédures nationales de coopération (art. 88).

PGA est régulièrement invitée par l'UE avec d'autres ONG pour présenter des briefings et des analyses et partager une évaluation des défis et avancées pertinentes sur la lutte contre l'impunité, dans le but d’informer les États membres de l'UE et les institutions européennes concernées participant au COJUR.
