PGA International Peace and Security Program is pleased to congratulate the Senate of the Philippines on the occasion of its approval last week of ratification of the Arms Trade Treaty. PGA IPSP has in 2018 worked closely with former Senator and PGA Member Antonio Trillanes IV in providing additional background information and commentary on the ATT, including addressing certain potential misconceptions surrounding the scope and purpose of the ATT. In February 2007, PGA also organized a Regional Asian Parliamentary Workshop in the House of Representatives of the Philippines on Small Arms and Light Weapons and the then proposed Arms Trade Treaty:

PGA IPSP expresses the hope that the full Senate plenary, following appropriate deliberation, may now see fit to give concurrence to ATT ratification in the near future, allowing for deposit of Instrument of Ratification of the ATT by the Government of the Philippines.
