PGA Congratulates Niue on its Accession to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) on 6th August 2020. Niue is the 110th State Party to the ATT, as has been recognized by the United Nations.

Niue was invited to and was an active Participant in, PGA's Regional Pacific Islands Workshop Addressing the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons and Encouraging Greater and More Effective Participation by Women Parliamentarians in Defence and Security, funded by UNSCAR, in Apia, Samoa in April 2018.

Niue's Presentation at the 2018 PGA Regional Pacific Islands Parliamentary Workshop, highlighting steps taken to accede to the Arms Trade Treaty and the Convention on Cluster Munitions.

PGA and PGA Membership in Samoa were also pleased to informally advise the Assistant Crown Counsel of Government, as well as the Parliament of Niue, facilitating, along with the efforts of others, the accession by Niue to the Biological Weapons Convention in 2018.

PGA also congratulates Niue on its accession to the Convention on Cluster Munitions as well as to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, also on 6th August 2020:
