Sao Tome and Príncipe signed a Bilateral Non Surrender Agreement with the USA on 12 November, 2003.
PGA/Parliamentary Action
In February 2001, the Speaker of Sao Tome and Principe participated in the PGA Lusophone Conference on ICC Ratification and Implementation hosted by the Assembleia da Republica of Portugal. The Speaker agreed on a final document in which he committed to advance the constitutional compatibility analysis of the Rome Statute by relevant organs of the State with the view to promote ratification.
Relevant follow-up actions took place through the initiative of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries) Secretariat.
Additional Relevant Information
The last Universal Periodic Review (UPR) was held 31 January, 2011 and Sao Tome and Príncipe received recommendations related to the Rome Statute by Mauritius, France, Poland and Portugal. Next UPR will take place in November, 2015.
