PGA congratulates the Government of the Republic of Seychelles on the occasion of the deposit of its Instrument of Ratification of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism (ICSANT) with the United Nations in New York earlier today.
In accordance with Article 25 (2) of the treaty itself, and having signed ICSANT on 7th October 2005, Seychelles will therefore now become the 126th State Party to the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, thirty days from today's date of deposit of Instrument of Ratification - on January 2nd, 2025.
PGA wishes also to acknowledge the important contributions made by PGA Executive Committee Member Hon. Bernard Georges in this connection. PGA is also pleased to work closely with UNODC in its global advocacy efforts in support of ICSANT and is grateful also for the support of the Weapons Threat Reduction Program of Global Affairs Canada for this global parliamentary campaign.
